Government released figure indicate that people 70 years and over comprise the largest age group involved in fatalities with the death of 44 senior citizens on the state's road last year [2009]. Since 2007 the annual road toll has decreased by 13 percent yet for those aged over 70 there has been a 19 percent increase in fatal accidents.
