WARNINGS
There is now a three tiered warning system in place in Victoria to alert the public to bushfire danger. These will provide general advice, suggtesed course of action and, in extreme cases, urgent emergency warnings.
FIRE DANGER
A new set of Fire Danger Ratings rank the daily threat from Low to Very High, through to Extreme Catastrophic (Code Red). Listen out for this information in regular weather updates.
Fires may threated suddnely and without warning. Whenever there is a threat of fire tune your radio to 95.5 (K-ROCK) or 93.9 (Bay FM) for the latest Geelong and Surf Coast information and emergency warnings.
- Advice Warnings - listen for information on bushfire developments
- Watch and Act - A Fire is burning & conditions are changing. Act now to protect yourself, your family, & your neighbours
- Emergency Warning - the highest alert level, warning you of an imminent threat. Take immediate action. Stop what you are doing and listen for information.
